Antimicrobial Analysis Services

As a professional quantum dot supply platform, in addition to providing quantum dots, Alfa Chemistry has been conducting research on quantum dots to expand the application fields of quantum dots. In the detection of antibacterial drugs, quantum dots also play an important role. Our professional team includes bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Can bring you comprehensive and scientific services.

Background

Antibacterial agents include various antibiotics, sulfonamides, imidazoles, nitroimidazoles, quinolones and other chemically synthesized drugs. Among them, Tetracyclines (TCs) antibiotics, as a class of antibiotics with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, show good antibacterial and bactericidal ability. However, due to the strong teratogenic and mutagenic effects of TCs, overdose may cause side effects such as fatal liver toxicity. Carbon quantum dots (CQDs), as a new type of fluorescent carbon nanomaterials, have the advantages of a wide range of raw materials, simple preparation, easy operation, high sensitivity, excellent luminescence performance and easy visualization. They can be recovered by fluorescence "quenching" Mechanism, better realization of the visual detection of antibacterial drugs.

Detection mechanism

After the combination of blue fluorescent carbon dots (T-CDs) with TCs, because the absorption spectra of OTC and TC overlap with the excitation spectra of T-CDs, based on the Inner filter effect (IFE), As a result, the excitation light of CQDs is absorbed and fluorescence quenching occurs. Moreover, the presence of electron-withdrawing group (-Cl) in CTC molecule makes it easier for CTC molecule to combine with negatively charged T-CDs and form a more stable system, thus leading to the enhancement of fluorescence signal. Therefore, based on the above different fluorescence response mechanisms, the visual differentiation of TC, OTC and CTC is realized.
