Lead halide perovskite CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) quantum dots (QDs) are a kind of promising optical and optoelectronic material. However, the toxicity of lead is the main obstacle to its widespread application. Since the main ground state can be excited by external high-energy photons, and electrons with sufficient energy are obtained to transition to the conduction band, the main excitation energy is quickly transferred to the fixed energy channel of the d state of Mn2+ ion, resulting in the emission of the sensitized dopant. The introduction of new optical properties by Mn2+ realizes advantageous features such as multiphoton fluorescence, large Stokes shift, emission within 585–600 nm range and lifetimes up to milliseconds.
