Background

Due to the quantum confinement effect, the intrinsic physical or chemical properties of nanomaterials change with the change of particle size. The most intuitive manifestation of the quantum confinement effect of semiconductor nanocrystals (also known as quantum dots) is that the energy bandwidth of the material increases as the particle size becomes smaller. Therefore, the energy band width can be adjusted by synthesizing nanocrystals of different sizes, so that the same nanocrystal material can be used to obtain emission fluorescence of different wavelengths. Compared with traditional organic dyes, fluorescent quantum dots have better light stability and a continuous absorption spectrum. The above properties make quantum dots more suitable for long-term observation than organic dyes and have a wider excitation wavelength range, so that a single light source can simultaneously excite multiple quantum dots with different luminous colors to achieve multi-channel observation. In addition, quantum dots also have a narrow and symmetrical emission spectrum, high luminous intensity (the luminous intensity of a single particle is about 100 times stronger than a single organic dye molecule) and a longer fluorescence lifetime than ordinary organic dyes. The above-mentioned superior fluorescence properties make fluorescent quantum dots a potential replacement for traditional organic dyes as an ideal fluorescent group, and they have received more and more attention from researchers in the fields of analysis and detection and biomedical tracer imaging. Based on the excellent optical properties of quantum dots, this thesis uses quantum dots as luminescent materials to construct quantum dot fluorescent probes, and successfully achieves the rapid detection of trace amounts of Hg2+, dopamine and biological thiols.
