As an n-type semiconductor material with wide band gap (~3.3 eV) and high exciton binding energy (60 meV), ZnO quantum dots generally have two crystal structures of wurtzite and sphalerite, among which the hexagonal wurtzite structure is the most Stable, one Zn atom and four O atoms are arranged in the form of a regular tetrahedron in its crystal structure.
