Determination of Procalcitonin in Blood by Quantum Dot Labeled Immunochromatography

Determination of Procalcitonin in Blood by Quantum Dot Labeled Immunochromatography

Quickly quantitatively detect the content of Procalcitonin (PCT) in the blood, select CdSe /ZnS quantum dots, and then label the quantum dots with anti-calcitonin monoclonal antibody to produce quantum dot-labeled immunochromatographic test strips and their corresponding Fluorescence measurement system. Alfa Chemistry can customize two kinds of quantum dots according to customer needs and provide quantum dot product solutions.

Procalcitonin (PCT) is an endogenous non-steroidal anti-inflammatory substance, which is induced during bacterial infections. Bacterial endotoxin is the most important stimulating factor that induces the production of PCT. At present, semi-quantitative and quantitative methods are common for detecting PCT. Semi-quantitative methods mostly use colloidal gold immunochromatography. By observing the color depth of the detection line on the colloidal gold immunochromatographic test strip, the content of PCT in the serum can be divided into roughly 4 levels. Quantitative methods currently include exemption epidemic fluorescence method, immunochemiluminescence method, etc. Quantum dots have the characteristics of wide excitation wavelength range, narrow and symmetrical emission spectrum peaks, little external interference, and good stability. Therefore, the quantum dot-labeled immunochromatography technology can achieve high-sensitivity rapid quantitative detection, the operation is far simpler than other detection methods, and its fluorescence detection equipment is much cheaper than other quantitative methods.

What we provide:

  • TEM image
  • Infrared spectra
  • XPS spectrum
  • UV absorption spectrum
  • Phosphorescence emission spectrum

What customers need to know:

For PCT over 100 μg /L

  • The low potency causes the high cost of mab, so it is necessary to use as little as possible to label anti-calcitin mab to reduce the cost.
  • Exceeding100 μg /L is extremely rare.
  • If the measurement range is too large, the measurement error at low concentration of PCT will be too large.

The immunochromatographic test paper designed by our method only set the detection line, but not set the quality control line, and the parameters of the test paper were optimized by PCT 100 μg /L.
