Detection mechanism

  • Edible synthetic pigments
  • Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are synthesized using waste lemon peel as a carbon source for the detection of carmine in beverages. After anti-interference experiments, a variety of potential interference substances such as citric acid, sucrose, VC, etc. will only slightly interfere or no interference on the fluorescence quenching reaction of carmine. The detection range of this CQDs for carmine is 0.20~30.00 mg/L, and the feasibility of this method is verified by the determination of carmine in soft drinks.

  • Illegal addition of pigments
  • CQDs with good stability were synthesized using waste cigarette filters as carbon source, and Sudan Ⅰ in chili powder, chili sauce and tomato sauce was detected based on the FRET principle. The detection linear range of the fluorescent probe is 2.40~104.0 μmol/L (R2 =0.991), and the detection limit is 0.95 μmol/L. And under the interference of Cu2+, potassium sorbate, VC, etc., this method still has good selectivity to Sudan Ⅰ.
