PbS-MPA Quantum Dots


Product Description

Alfa Chemistry offers PbS-MPA quantum dots with excellent optical properties, suitable forbidden band width and near-infrared emission wavelength range of 850-1030 nm. Through a surface ligand exchange process, PbS quantum dots are soluble in water and have good biocompatibility for a wide range of applications in bioimaging and drug delivery. In addition, our PbS quantum dots have large Bohr radius, strong quantum effect, narrow particle size distribution and stability for solar cells and light-emitting devices. We can be customized for customers to produce different grams of products at any wavelength.


Abargues et al. investigated the effect of ligand exchange on the photocatalytic performance of solution-treated PbS membranes. The effect of the ligand 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) was tested and it was found that the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange by PbS membranes coated with MPA and EDT was improved. Both energy band energy alignment and carrier transport strongly influenced the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which plays a key role in the photodegradation process. The stability and reusability of the photocatalysts were significantly improved after ligand exchange. This demonstrates that MPA and EDT provide more stability to PbS QD films, thus operating very efficiently for up to multiple photocatalytic cycles. Abargues et al. show that surface chemical engineering of solution-treated QD films opens a new avenue for the design of efficient and stable visible light-driven photocatalysts.
