Product Description

Alfa Chemistry offers water-soluble CdS/ZnS core-shell semiconductor quantum dots in the emission range from 420 nm to 450 nm. By changing the composition in the CdS core and ZnS shell, the CdS/ZnS quantum dots have gradient alloy quantum dots with similar particle size but different emission wavelengths. Our CdS/ZnS quantum dots have size-dependent optical/electronic properties, uniform size distribution, and high quantum yields for highly sensitive cell imaging, drug delivery, and luminescence devices.


Liu et al. prepared photocatalysts by constructing heterojunctions containing quantum dots to degrade organic pollutants in water, thus avoiding the triggered environmental crisis that poses a serious threat to human survival, ecology and sustainable development. Single-phase g-C3N4 has good physicochemical stability, a suitable optical band gap, and the ability to absorb visible light. G-C3N4 has a promising application in wastewater photocatalytic treatment due to its narrow band gap (~2.4 eV), unique photoelectric properties, and good stability. By further coupling ZnS, g-C3N4 and CdS, faster electron-hole complexation rates are expected.The CZG ternary composites were prepared based on a simple cation exchange reaction by Liu et al. The composition and photochemical properties of the prepared photocatalysts were investigated by XRD. The CZG composites exhibited higher visible light photocatalytic efficiency than the binary composites due to the increased efficiency of photoinduced charge carrier separation as a simulated pollutant to evaluate the photodegradation performance.
